    Responsibilities

    Responsible for the safe and effective troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of assets in accordance with Company directives. Proficient in Mechanical, Electrical, and Control equipment and systems.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Actively comply with and enforce all safety policies and procedures with direct reports and contractors. Take appropriate action to eliminate all unsafe acts or conditions.

     

    Support daily plant operations through effective troubleshooting and repair of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control system adhering to all policies, procedures and instructions.

     

    Maximize equipment reliability by effectively performing assigned work orders and PMs. Ensure complete and effective repairs.  Proactively initiate work orders based on PM observations, measurements or PdM reports. 

     

    Plan and schedule daily activities.

     

    Document work completed in the CMMS including actions taken, conditions observed, root cause, preventive action recommendations, and resources utilized including labor hours and parts. Ensure that all machine repairs and/or scheduled maintenance are completed/verified via MAEPI Group Global Standards and that all appropriate closing codes are used.

     

    Interpret manual and computer-generated reports and suggest changes to improve the operability, reliability and safety of assets.

     

    Specify replacement parts and requisition required repair parts.

     

    Lead, train and coordinate activities of Maintenance Technicians I/II/III as directed by supervisors.

     

    Actively increase skill level through self-development activities for continuous improvement.

     

    Manage contractors (design, engineering, labor, construction, etc.) and/or lead other engineers and technicians as assigned. Ensure compliance with contract specifications and compliance with all EHS policies.

     

    Lead projects and assist skilled trades in Electrical/Mechanical disciplines.

     

    Assist corporate controls in engineering changes and new programs.

     

    Guides design, develops and tests electrical control methods, materials, processes and results.

     

    Direct and/or participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities

    Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.

     

    Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Utilizes highly specialized knowledge and skills of the following components:

     

    Mechanical

    • Interpretation of pneumatic system schematics
    • Troubleshooting of pneumatic systems
    • V-Belt Tensioning
    • Valves / Valve replacements
    • Motors and drive systems
    • Contactors, starters, relays, switches
    • Power supplies and transformers
    • Electrical enclosures and wiring devicesElectrical
    • Interpretation of electrical and controls circuitry schematics
    • Interpretation of PLC schematics
    • Electrical standards
    • Use of electrical equipment
    • Troubleshooting
    • Safety precautions

     

    Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

    PC proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel Outlook, PowerPoint, and CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) environments.

     

    Education and Experience Required

    HS degree (GED equivalent), plus ten years maintenance manufacturing experience, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.

     

    Licensing or other Special Requirements

    Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently; and up to 100 pounds with assistance; forklift experience, a plus.
