    Responsibilities

    • Assist with environmental, health, safety and Department of Homeland Security processes and related management systems for MAPEI facilities i in preparation for succession of Corporate EHS Manager.
    • Support environmental, health and safety management program that leads to continuous measurable improvement.
    • Assist with regulatory training programs for all personnel.
    • Help Corporate Regulatory Compliance Manager compile compliance and accident trends throughout the corporation and assist with reports.
    • Support EHS department personnel at each as directed by Corporate EHS Manager.
    • Support project plans related to product, process, and equipment changes and improvements, as well as building additions and modifications to ensure EHS matters including permits are properly considered and addressed prior to project initiation.
    • Assist in communication/interaction with governmental regulatory agencies to ensure compliance
    • Assist with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems implementation and maintenance for sites in North America.
    • Assist with Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards.
    • Travel to MAPEI facilities to implement and manage EHS compliance and regulations (50% travel)
    • Direct special projects in OSHA, EPA and EMS.
    • Participate in corporate regulatory and management system audits.
    • Assist in governmental inquiries and investigations.
    • Investigate and participate in investigation of EHS incidents

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in implementing and managing EHS programs within a manufacturing function with a proven track record, and minimum 5 years of management experience leading others successfully.
    • High degree of knowledge of standards and practices in safety, health and environmental matters or a demonstrated ability to learn those standards quickly.
    • Knowledge of basic requirements of OSHA, EPA, DHS regulatory standards is required, with a strong balance of experience in both environmental and safety compliance work.
