    Responsible for maintenance and asset care to maximize capacity and produce the highest quality product at the lowest cost. Assist Corporate Engineering in the design and installation of new assets and/or modification of existing assets to optimize production processes to meet current and future business needs.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Please list in order of priority and importance to the Company.)


    Actively enforce all safety policies and procedures with direct and non-direct reports and contractors. Take appropriate action to eliminate all unsafe acts or conditions.


    Support daily plant operations through the effective management of maintenance resources adhering to all policies, procedures and instructions.


    Assists the Unit Manager to develop annual budgets for Maintenance, Major Maintenance, and Capital. Monitors and controls spending. Forecasts and communicates significant variances to the Unit Manager and the Corporate Maintenance Manager.


    Effectively monitor and analyze maintenance KPI’s. Implement corrective and preventive improve the reliability and performance of equipment .


    Communicates to management significant events and critical issues as appropriate.   Prepares and submits weekly and monthly reports as directed summarizing significant events, corrective actions, and results.


    Prepares and communicates to maintenance and operations personnel daily and weekly maintenance plans. Ensure all planned work is completed on schedule in the most efficient manner.


    Ensure Machinery Preventative Maintenance and Repair is scheduled; that all machine repairs and/or scheduled maintenance are completed/verified via MAEPI Group Global Standards. Coordinate maintenance schedules with production schedules.


    Directly supervise personnel responsible for equipment and building maintenance.


    Maintain highly skilled workforce through effective hiring, training, and performance management of employees.


    Stays abreast of and implements World Class Best Practices to minimize equipment downtime and maximize capacity and equipment performance.   Assess effectiveness and make appropriate corrective actions.


    Monitor assigned work group’s daily performance, communicate this information with the group via daily attainment board display and verbal / written communication - initiating / performing corrective action as required.


    Consult with Engineering and Management to initiate, develop and implement process and policy improvements.


    Work closely with the other Managers to ensure Machinery Preventative Maintenance and Repair is scheduled; that all machine repairs and/or scheduled maintenance are completed/verified via MAEPI Group Global Standards.


    Actively contribute as a member of the Safety Committee monthly and practice / communicate “safety first” with all direct and indirect reports.


    Estimate, drive and standardize work hour requirements for completion of job assignments.


    Assist Corporate Engineering to install or modify new or existing assets.


    Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the Company.


    Recommend corrective measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.


    Suggest changes in working conditions and processes to increase efficiency of shop, department, or crews.


    Manage and control maintenance parts and equipment inventories in accordance with corporate procedures and work instructions.


    Participate in awarding contracts for outside services. Ensure compliance to contract specifications and compliance with all EHS policies when on site.


    Develop and implement minor capital projects and major maintenance projects to reduce maintenance cost, improve equipment reliability, and improve plant efficiencies.


    Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.


    Perform other duties as required.


    Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required


    Able to analyze and define a problem, using sound reasoning to arrive at a solution


    Demonstrates proficient oral and written communication skills, including ability to listen, process information, then re-communicate instruction and direction in one-on-one and group settings, including (discussions, presentations, reports, and negotiations, as applicable). Employs appropriate follow up methods to ensure communication results in achieved goals and objectives.


    Able to contribute to the company by understanding, reading, and putting into application part of the global budget in relation to one’s department; can calculate the break-even point of a product, can carry out an exercise of cost/profit, and can perform the financial analysis that is required by one’s role.


    Utilize interpersonal skills such as good oral and written communication skills, tact and diplomacy, and conflict management skills to establish positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, and directors.


    Able to understand the facets, duties and responsibilities of the job; keeps job knowledge current.

    Shows skills in the application of mathematics, which may include the following applications: producing statistics, data extraction, identifying trends, etc. Able to calculate numbers and amounts such as: discounts, interests, commissions, ratios, percentages, exchange rates, circumferences and volumes. Able to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. Statistical Process Control: Understands various SPC tools (Control charts, Standard deviation, Cpk, etc.) and has the ability to use them for analysis and trend identification.


    Have a proficient knowledge of mechanical processes and be able to perform relevant calculations and analyses to assist in operation, sizing, and troubleshooting of processes and process equipment.


    Adheres to OSHA standards and complies with MAPEI's internal EH&S program requirements. Observes and enforces safe work practices in all activities; and stores equipment/materials/tools safely in designated areas, as applicable. Wears at all times the assigned personal protective equipment (PPE). Practices good personal hygiene, promotes a sanitary work environment and adheres to good housekeeping standards.


    Able to supervise others and monitor their work so that tasks are completed appropriately.


    Ability to develop strong, trusting business relationships with internal / external customers toward achieving Department / Company goals. Proactively support an atmosphere of teamwork by working collaboratively to meet team goals/objectives while respectfully appreciating other team members’ viewpoints.


    Maintains current understanding of technical processes/equipment, uses technology to increase performance/productivity.


    Maintains high standards of personal ethics, supporting MAPEI's Code of Ethics.


    Fulfills EMS Policy and process requirements as documented in site procedures and instructions and, in particular, is accountable for pollution prevention, waste recycling, continuous improvement and applicable environmental laws related to his/her job.


    Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

    The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


    Education and Experience Required

    Requires a Bachelor’s (B.A.) degree from a four year College or University or the equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience or any equivalent combination of related training.
