    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 


    Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment by properly identifying and storing ingredients, supplies and products as directed by supervisors and efficiently using various hand tools and equipment such as push brooms, mops, floor sweepers, cleaning chemicals, trash receptacles, etc,


    Read and follow daily production schedule and instructions, prepare packaging materials by retrieving items from storage, applying labels to containers, setting up and loading filling machines, stacking and palletizing products, operating various automatic and manual packaging machines, scales and printing devices, industrial lift trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling tools and equipment.
    Maintain accurate written and electronic records as required by specific tasks.


    Assist other operators as directed by supervisors in performing all activities associated with the manufacture of products and any other task assigned by supervisors.
    Prepare ingredients according to production schedule and instructions for blending and compounding (referred to as “Pre-weigh”) using various tools and measuring devices, including but not limited to: digital / manual scales, pumps, hand scoops, buckets, bags, supersacks and pallets.


    Operate various processing equipment designed to break up, grind, mix, transport, or otherwise prepare ingredients for final processing.
    Prepare, identify and transport samples of materials to QC personnel for testing.


    Train, educate and coordinate activities of Process Operators I & II, as directed by supervisors.


    Communicate immediately to Operators, Supervisors, or any member of management all circumstances which may affect quality or are considered questionable and unsafe.


    Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.


    Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Nowledge, Skills and Competencies Required


    • Demonstrates proficient oral and written communication skills, including ability to listen, process information, then re-communicate instruction and direction in one-on-one and group settings, including (discussions, presentations, reports, and negotiations, as applicable). 

     

    • Able to show attention to detail and verify that assigned tasks are error free and that data and facts are accurate.
      Shows skills in the application of mathematics, which may include the following applications: producing statistics, data extraction, identifying trends, etc. Able to calculate numbers and amounts such as: discounts, interests, commissions, ratios, percentages, exchange rates, circumferences and volumes. Able to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. 

    • Have a proficient knowledge of mechanical processes and be able to perform relevant calculations and analyses to assist in operation, sizing, and troubleshooting of processes and process equipment.

    • Performs services and/or produces product to meet the target performance levels established; within cost/budget, on time, within specification, and in the required quantity.

      Able to meet deadlines, establish appropriate priorities, and get the job done in a timely manner; able to complete task in fast-paced environment with many interruptions.

    • Able to develop strong, trusting business relationships with internal / external customers toward achieving Department / Company goals. Proactively support an atmosphere of teamwork by working collaboratively to meet team goals/objectives while respectfully appreciating other team members’ viewpoints.
      Utilize time management skills by prioritizing time and being efficient when accomplishing work.

    • The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment.
      Requires familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as using the Internet, if
      required.

    Education and Experience Required


    HS degree (GED equivalent), plus process manufacturing experience.
    Licensing or other Special Requirements
    Requires a valid drivers license and a good driving record.
    Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
    Forklift experience a plus.
