    Reporting to the QEHS Management Systems Director, the Manager of Environmental (E) and Health &Safety (HS) management systems (MS) will be responsible for overseeing all activities involving EMS and HSMS and compliance with applicable standards (ISO 14001 and 45001) in assigned locations within the organization.


    This position will be located at our Deerfield Beach, Florida headquarters.


    Job Responsibilities:


    • Provides support for the integration of MAPEI’s management systems.


    • Implements, maintains and improves ISO 14001 management systems and actively supports the implementation of ISO 45001.


    • Actively interacts with Corporate EHS Manager and site EHS specialists to assure that our organization is in compliance with the above ISO standards and our management systems requirements.


    • Prepares, communicates, and executes internal audits related to the management systems.


    • Identifies deviations and opportunities for improvement to insure exemplary regulatory performance and promote continual improvement.


    • Initiates, designs, develops, implements, maintains, and monitors existing EMS and HSMS programs, procedures, policies, model programs that: a) assure compliance with current, emerging, and/or changing Federal, state, and local EHS regulations and b) support/align with Mapei EHS Policies and, the E and HS management systems.   


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or related field of study.   Advanced degree and certifications (i.e. CSP, PE, etc.) are a strong plus.


    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Chemical or related Specialty Materials industry leading and managing compliance and EHS management systems.


    • Experience in the planning, development, and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance programs.


    • Thorough knowledge and experience working with ISO 14001, 45001 and OHSAS 18001.


    • The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment.  Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


    • Knowledge and successful track record in the design, implementation and monitoring of critical EHS programs including, behavioral safety processes, facility auditing, emergency planning, incident investigation, employee safety committees, property conservation, hearing conservation, confined spaces, hazard communication, respiratory protection, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, lockout/tag out, storm water permitting, wastewater treatment, waste management and reporting, and general process chemical management.


    • Ability to positively influence others in order to advance the best interests of MAPEI, internal EHS goals/targets, and EHS initiatives.


    • Demonstrated knowledge of EHS risks and impacts of work activities and the benefits of improving EHS performance.


    • Requires the ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
